The Innovative Educator: Make and Publish Books for Free Using A Cell Phone...

Here is a blog post about making use of mobile or smart phones for collaborative learning: The Innovative Educator: Make and Publish Books for Free Using A Cell Phone... Since many of our students have access to a mobile phone (and quite a few to smartphones and other mobile devices) they can take and send/email pictures. This blog post describes a simple way to set up a class 'album' in FLICKR and use TAGs to allow students to contribute their own media.  The TAGs allow slideshows to be created quickly on any given topic.  Along with TAGging, students are expected to write a short caption for the image--all of which can be done from their mobile devices.  There are some teaching ideas described to show how this can result instudent-generated and learner-centered media projects in a few minutes that would otherwise have taken hours to compile with the old email and attachment type of collection method.
